What it is
Here a whale is a wallet holding a large share of supply.
Pools, contracts and exchange or custodial wallets never count: a deposit to an exchange is not a whale accumulating.
Each day shows the tokens that moved into and out of whale wallets, how many whales there were and what share of supply they held, and how many wallets crossed the line either way.
What goes into it
- 1
Blocktronics computes the whale flow for the token.
- 2
Net is the tokens into whale wallets minus the tokens out.
net = tokens in − tokens out
How to read it
- High
- More flowing into whale wallets than out: large holders are adding.
- Low
- More flowing out: large holders are reducing.
- Rising
- Whale count or share rising: supply is concentrating in large wallets.
- Falling
- Whale count or share falling: large wallets are distributing or dropping under the line.
Evidence in the data, never advice
Common pitfalls
- This whale (a large share of supply) is not the $100k+ cohort elsewhere on the site.
- The last day is the day the scan ran, still open then: partial.
- Until the section is connected, the card says it connects soon and what it will show; development builds draw labelled samples, never in production.
